01 / Early hours
Before the harbor wakes
Start where the streets meet the water. Give yourself time for a coffee, a view of the working boats, and a slow walk back through the side streets.
Read the note
Pick a public stretch of waterfront and walk it before breakfast. At the first good bench, take a minute to notice what is arriving and what is leaving. On the way back, take a different street and stop when you find somewhere you want to sit.
02 / Lunch on foot
A market lunch for one
Choose one thing to tear, one thing to slice, and one thing sweet. Find a seat outside and let lunch take as long as it takes.
Read the note
Walk the market once before you buy anything. A small loaf, something from the produce stall, and a pastry make an easy lunch. Bring a napkin and save the pastry for the last bench of the afternoon.
03 / Late light
The green way back
Trace a line through the neighborhood’s parks and gardens. Let shade, an interesting doorway, or a quiet square decide where you turn.
Read the note
Mark two green spaces on your map and leave the middle blank. Pause between them to write down one small detail you would otherwise forget. End somewhere with a straightforward walk or ride back.
